It’s one of the most iconic lines in movie history said by Chief Brody (Roy Scheider) when he sees the shark in Jaws for the first time and realizes how out of his depth he and the crew of The Orca really are. Fast forward to 2024….“We’re gonna need a bigger garden”
Maybe we are out of our depth with dahlia tubers.
In 2023 we nearly doubled our gardens. Nonetheless, we are working on a modest expansion in 2024. Simply put, we need more room for the dahlia varieties that we are adding this year. Nearly all our plants are grown for cut flowers (we sell to florists), but many we grow for personal enjoyment and for tuber (plant) sales in late winter/ early Spring.
Photos to follow, but I must add…since we have expanded our gardens, we have seen MANY more bluebirds, hummingbirds, finches, and swallows. What a nice benefit we have enjoyed because of the additional plants.
All the while we are packing, shipping, starting, and growing our OWN plants.
Ahhhhh…..SPRING
